Happy New Year to all of you celebrating the beginning of a new...umm...well year! Personally, I cannot begin my "New Year" until Baby V arrives. Why? Well, because my resolutions are:
1) to be the best Mom I can be and
2) get back in shape.
Now how the heck can I do either without a baby and while pregnant?! Sooo...I'm pushing New Year's back a couple months. Drew's resolution is to read more. I told him he read A LOT last year but apparently he doesn't mean reading /studying for certifications. He means 'fun' reading. How can learning about hedge funds not be fun? Sheesh. I'll be reading more but not by choice...I've been loaned 'The Happiest Baby on the Block' and another book so I've got some fun reading to do myself...apparently these books are very helpful when trying to calm/soothe a crying/upset baby. What happened to maternal instincts? Do those really exist?
Here's a picture now that I'm 32 weeks! Only 8 more to go! I'm HUGE. I mean HUGE.
I'm not even sure how this happened. I've been eating good - minus some holiday goodies here and there - and exercising. So, I'm convinced this is really the little one growing, growing, and growing...which is a good thing and what I want. I just hope he's not going to be a 10 pounder. I prefer 6-8 pounds. :) Of course, that's out of my control! Just as long as he's healthy I really don't care. But we're talking perfect world scenario so why not want a 6-8 pounder!?
Anyways, I can definitely feel the extra 20 pounds I'm carrying when I run. I have to incorporate more walking now, but not giving up on pounding the pavement. I use the elliptical at the gym as well but for whatever reason that hurts my ankles. People are starting to ask me 'When are you due?' so I know I'm looking bigger now! No one would ask that if they didn't think you were close!
I'm VERY excited because I have TWO showers coming up these next few weekends in January! One in Charlotte - Drew's Mom's best friends are giving me this shower - and one in Monroe where I grew up - my SIL is throwing that one. I cannot wait to see all my family and friends! I asked my Mom to buy me a crown to wear at them and she looked at me like I had two heads and said I have issues. Seriously Mom...I would never say that to my child. She hears that a lot lately...'I would never say or do that to my child'...and she rolls her eyes. Okay not really - she's not the type to roll her eyes - but I know she's thinking about rolling her eyes. She's so lucky to have me...alright, fine. I'm lucky to have her. Gosh. I don't like being too 'serious' on here...
Oh exciting news! Our upstairs of the house is painted now so it matches the rest of our home! This is something I've been DYING to finish since we moved in a year ago! Baby V's nursery is painted! We went with Benjamin Moore Vale Mist - it's a natural green/blueish color. Very simple and calming. The guest room was painted in Bar Harbor Beige and the bathroom in jalapeno pepper (that was our 'WILD' card color). It all looks fantastic! Here's a couple pictures for now....
Baby V Room
It's hard to see the color...so I added Baby V's favorite toy to the pic just because. It's a little Symba dog so he can be just like his Daddy! :) I can already tell Drew's not going to 'share' his BFF Symba...so for Christmas I got Baby V his own little Symba.
And YES that's the CRIB!!!! How AWESOME is it?!?! It was a gift from Drew's Mom and Dad! LOVE! After Drew put it together we looked at each other and said 'Okay, we have a crib in our house. Wow.' I've been laying clothes in the crib pretending our little one is in there...what?! Is that weird? I'm not the only one, right?!

Drew and I hope you all have the BEST year of your lives! We know this will be one of the best years we've ever had. We are so excited to welcome our son to the world and love him more than anything and anyone ever could. He is our gift. Our precious child and we'll love him so much and always.
Happy New Year!
