Weeks 30 & 31...ho!ho!ho!

We hope each and every one of you had a very Merry Christmas!  For ME, this Christmas was special.  First, we spent the entire time with my family so I really absorbed all the attention.  Drew's family spent Christmas in either Iowa or Chicago, so we missed that side of the family this year (sigh).  Last year we were in Mexico for Christmas with the Vetter family....and I was skinny and tan.  This year we spent Christmas in Monroe, NC...and I was pale and fat (aka pregnant).  Oh how things change in a year!  The MAIN difference this year - I didn't get any presents.  Apparently, when you are with child as Mary was with Jesus, you only get presents for the baby.  I understand what Mary experienced that precious night in Bethlehem.  The wise men only brought presents for baby Jesus.  My family only brought presents for Baby V.  Like Mary, I held my head high...and accepted each one on the baby's behalf.  So, what was my favorite gift?  This ONE! The Bob Revolution jogging stroller!

My parents had this delivered to our house right before Christmas and BOY WAS I HAPPY!  This is the ONE thing I've prayed and begged for since I found out I was pregnant.  You all know I like to run (very slow) and without this stroller all my hopes and dreams of fitting back into my clothes would fade. Now I'm already planning trips to the beach and runs along the streets here in Raleigh.  I won't lie - running's hard enough for me - all the extra weight on me, from the stroller and then a baby makes me nervous.  How the heck I'll run and push this thing I have no clue - but doesn't matter...I'll figure it out.  All that matters is I have the Cadillac of strollers to cruise the block with! :)  haha!  Thanks Mom and Dad!

Doesn't Drew look like a great Daddy already?

And another shot....Nala's been 'testing' the stroller and she loves it!  She kept yelling 'faster you turtle'...sheesh, she has no manners!  Who raised this dog?!

As for weeks 30 and 31 of my pregnancy, I'm really feeling good for the most part.  I had a low moment last week when I went to the doctor for a check-up.  I had to get on the scale and I almost went into labor when I saw the number.  I'm right where I need to be weight wise, but it's HARD seeing that # climb!  It's good to know Baby V is growing...but the vain part of me freaks out a little bit each doctor visit and now I have to go every two weeks to see that scale!   Oh course, I get to hear his heartbeat too so that wins over the scale. :)  Anyway, enough about me, our precious little boy will be here in 9 weeks!  That's not long and the time will fly b/c I have 2 showers (yay!) and a nursery to decorate between now and then to focus my energy on.

See that baby growing!!! He's our world already!  Drew and I are just soooo in love with him!

And last, this was Drew's favorite present this Christmas.  We're already planning our first 'family' trip with Baby V!

It's the last week of 2011 and I am going to head to Starbuck's to grab a coffee and reflect on the past year.  So many blessings took place this year in our family - we moved into our first home, we remained happy and healthy all year long, we both have good jobs, our families are healthy and doing amazing, and best of all we're experiencing the miracle of life.  We are so blessed.  I cannot wait to see what 2012 brings since we'll be starting a WHOLE new chapter in our lives next year.  God is so good.  Oh, and normally I'd be writing resolutions about this time but I don't have to b/c it's easy - be the best Mom I can be to Baby V.  That and get back into shape! :)

Many blessings to you and your family!
