The Vetter's: Weeks 7 & 8 of 156

Also known as Consolidation Weeks 2 & 3. I am happy to report Levi is acting more like himself and his energy is back! He's playing! He's smiling! He's like the Levi before this all happened (well, kind of)!!! I cannot explain how good this glimmer of hope feels!

The past couple weeks Levi has begun to play with his old toys again - riding his Gator, pretending to mow the lawn, running around with Ellie, riding his bike, etc. He is laughing again. Enjoys wrestling with Drew and talking about football. He looks happy! My heart is smiling just thinking about it.

Quick rundown:

He's not eating a ton. The chemo decreases his appetite in this phase. Of course, he sometimes wants to eat at 7:30 pm when it's too late because he cannot have any food 2 hours before his chemo (6MP) which we give him at bedtime...so no food after 6 pm which is challenging...but I'll take that over the steroid any day!
He's energetic! Like mentioned above, he's getting his energy back and playing again! We went to the White Water Center with the Ripmaster family last weekend and this weekend we went to our neighborhood Fall Festival. Levi was playing with friends and running and laughing! It was so good to see him out and playing around other kids. It had been too long.
All in all, the past couple weeks have been good -- all things considered. This phase Levi did have 3 (maybe 4?) LPs and he gets an oral chemo daily so the reality is still there...but it's good to see him up and moving again.
Our friends and our daycare continue to support us with #levistrong tshirts and bracelets in support of Levi ---- I cannot express HOW much it means to us.

Levi's numbers (week 3):

WBC: 4.7 (good!)
HGB: 9.0 (good!)
ANC: 3.0 (good!)

One more week of Consolidation before we move into the next phase...which I'll learn more about at his next visit. Until then, please continue to pray for Levi.
