A small storm has passed

With all the rain last week, I should've known that a small storm was headed our way. Levi spent the past three days in the hospital because of a viral infection. He's finally home and resting (thankfully!!). We are grateful to our family once again jumping in so we can work and manage through this as best we can.

But this post is more about the positive than the negative. While in the hospital, a friend and colleague from work - Gina Hart, created a video about running a marathon in Levi's honor to raise money and awareness for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (it's on my Facebook page). I was covered in tears that she made this video...her heart is so BIG. She is such a GOOD person. I also know the commitment it takes to do this....I strive to be more like her...so much compassion.

Many of you, like Gina, have done acts of kindness or sent messages/cards and I probably haven't responded or thanked most of you. Please know that I am reading them all. And sometimes, they come at a time I need them the most (like the past couple days). Such as a message from an old high school friend that just wants to say she's praying for us - from one Mom to another. Or a complete stranger sending Levi a card with a prayer inside. Or a simple 'Love you' from my Mom. It all helps me get through this...

So, your kind words and your prayers mean everything to me. To my family. Thank you.
