This is the week of Thanksgiving. A week to pause and be thankful - more so than other weeks and days throughout the year. I am thankful that Levi continues to do well during this current phase of treatment. I am thankful for his smile and laugh. I am thankful for his doctors, nurses, and anyone else involved in getting him better and beating cancer!
Levi's counts:
- WBC: 3.6
- RBC: 3.47
- HGB: 9.9
- ANC: 900
- Platelet: 669
Basically, his counts still look good! But we do expect to see theses numbers drop as we continue treatment...that's just part of the protocol. Levi continues to handle treatment well and I am so grateful for the team at Levi's clinic. They make going to clinic for treatment bearable - they let Levi squirt saline on the staff, they make him laugh/smile, they give him doctor paraphernalia (gloves, tape, etc) to play with at home! It makes the experience SO MUCH more bearable. I love them. I do - I barely know them all but I absolutely love them all for what they do - for my son and for all kids battling cancer in their care.
Mommy & Daddy Staycation
And while Levi's doing well, Drew and I asked our WONDERFUL parents to watch the kiddos so we could have a get-away. We cannot go far so we decided to stay in Charlotte and get a hotel room uptown to feel like we're getting away. It was such a great decision for us --- we both LOVED every second together!!!!!! We started the day at a hot yoga class (thanks Drew for coming!!), went uptown Charlotte and checked out a few events and then checked into the hotel to change and head to dinner at Soul in Plaza Midwood. Then we went to Noda to watch a North Carolina bluegrass band called Mipso at Neighborhood Theatre. They were awesome! It was like old times for us - just smiling and listening to live music...something Drew and I loved to do pre-kids! And then this morning we stayed at the hotel until checkout and grabbed coffee before getting our babies back!
And let me just say this --- my relationship with Drew is amazing. Investing in our relationship is so very important and during this INCREDIBLY difficult time, it's more important than ever. So I am GLAD we did it! WE HAD A BLAST! I love you Drew Vetter!

I am having an issue accessing pictures but here are a couple...
And thanks again to our parents ------ I don't know what we would do without you.
