<< Vetter Vacation 2016 >>

It's summertime! The days are full! We work, we pool it, we rinse and repeat! And we even squeezed in an awesome vacation!

Care Package from Colleagues
When Levi started Maintenance, we decided to chance it and plan a week long vacation to Hilton Head, SC and it was the best decision we've made. It was a BLAST! But before we headed out, two HUGE packages arrived in the mail...and once AGAIN - yes, for the second time, my work colleagues TOTALLY shocked us with a TON of vacation goodies from suitcases for the kids, to pool toys, clothes, candy, cash and gift cards --- I mean a TON of stuff! There was an Atlas which showed where all "Team Levi" team members are located and even a list of gas stations, restaurants, etc. off the main exits on our drive. They ABSOLUTELY know how to nail it in the care package department. There are no words to describe how grateful we feel....it kicked our vacation off right and really made it stress free! I am so proud to work with all of these amazing people who have supported us since day 1. They all deserve an award or raise or something for going above and beyond....seriously, I cannot ever say thank you enough....I wish I could somehow repay them for the smiles they put on my babies faces (and ours)!

Core Memories
If you've seen the movie Inside Out, you know what I am talking about...core memories...the good ones that last forever. We made lots of core memories on vacation....like when we arrived at 11 pm Thursday night, the kids running around the house screaming 'this is awesome'. Or watching Levi's swimming skills totally improve each day. Or Ellie and Levi howling together after watching Good Dinosaur at night. Or Levi and Drew putting on the green at the house in the evening. Or Drew and I having moments alone at night to just talk. An evening at the pool that felt almost perfect. Just some solid memories we'll forever cherish. It was w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l. We needed this vacation more than we realized.

Quick Levi Update
I apologize for not updating the blog in some time...to be honest, we're just trying to embrace the good days. Levi is doing wonderful...he's so happy to be back in school with his friends. When I pick him up, he'll talk all the way home about his day and who he played with or didn't play with (ha!). I missed those conversations. I missed having him run to me screaming Mommy! Mommy! when I pick him up at the end of the day....we almost feel "normal" again. But we're not..because our evening routine requires daily doses of chemo and other meds. I wouldn't describe that as normal. But you know...I'd never use the word "normal" to describe Levi. He's always been special in many ways....I know says every Mom about their child...but I MEAN IT! :) He's a bright light in this world.

#runforlevi
It's not over...keep the running going! I ran my little toe into a piece of furniture and fractured it...but I can FINALLY run again. And I did on vacation around beautiful Hilton Head! And we're working on another fundraising campaign...more details to follow! Just know that when you run for Levi -- you are sending us your energy. It's pushing us along...so please don't stop.

And now the pics (in no particular order as you'll see)!
